Support for the Family of Fortunato "Jun" Lacson

To all that loved Fortunato “Jun” Lacson, Jr.

We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the outpouring of prayers and support from friends, colleagues, relatives, and family for the unexpected death of our beloved Jun on June 19, 2022. He was complaining of shoulder pain and was admitted to the hospital for a comprehensive workup, but his condition quickly deteriorated. In the span of three days, we lost him to a syndrome referred to by doctors as "Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis" (HLH). We sadly lost him at the age of 52.

Jun’s sudden death is a shock to all of us. He leaves behind the love of his life-- wife Margie; and his pride and joy, their three boys: Miguel, 18; Tyler, 16; and Xavier, 12.

Well-known for his kind and generous spirit, engaging smile, and compassionate heart, he was the primary provider of his young family.

He was a devout member of Corpus Christi Parish Church. As Chairperson of the Parent Education Committee from 2020-2022, he championed the importance of parent involvement in the education and development of their children. He was a graduate of the University of Santo Tomas College of Engineering. Before moving to Vancouver, Jun worked as an engineer for Globe Telecoms and PLDT in Manila. For the past 10 years, he has worked as an IT Network Specialist at The Vancouver International Airport (YVR).

We are grateful and greatly comforted by the condolences sent by so many people whose lives were touched by our beloved Jun.

Jun was a dedicated father who worked hard to ensure a bright future for his three boys. His dream was to see them complete their education and graduate from university. Although his sudden death means he will not be able to see his boys grow, we would like to support his family in fulfilling Jun’s dream.
