Support for the Glenbrook School Community
Donation protected
Hello All! We are a group of fourth year Bachelor of Child Studies students from Mount Royal University currently working on a full year capstone project that serves children, youth and families within Glenbrook Elementary School. Glenbrook school is a diverse community that holds 234 unique students from Kindergarten to grade Six. Through the awareness and recognition that many students are facing adversity and lacking access to basic needs, this virtual fundraiser aims to support these students and their families in enhancing access to a better quality of life and support in their education.
Glenbrook Elementary is a high needs school which includes families that are challenged with a varying range of needs due to low socioeconomic status, housing insecurity, and immigrant and refugee status. This has been a tough year for everyone and we have all been faced with the challenges COVID-19 has brought and the financial stress that comes along with it. Combined with the financial stress of the holiday season we want to reach out into our own communities and ask for any contribution you would be willing to give.
Our goal is to raise at least $1000 (or more) in 30 days which will allow us to purchase gift cards to large retailers to provide financial assistance to these families during this seasonal time of need for a range of disclosed needs such as food, clothing, winter accessories, educational supplies and gifts. 250 dollars of what we raise will go towards an appreciation gift for the teachers of Glenbrook.
We hope you will consider supporting Glenbrook Elementary School this holiday season and help us reach our goal to ease the stress on the students and families within the Glenbrook community.
