Support for Ian Goddard's Family
***FINAL UPDATE: I wanted to let everyone know that the page will be closed tomorrow. Thank you to everyone who donated and shared this fundraiser. It means more than you will ever know. If anyone wanted to make a donation but hadn't yet, the family has asked that any additional funds be given to CHEO now. Also, a thank you message from the Goddard Family has been posted below. Please have a read when you can. Thank you and please take care, Laura Doane
***UPDATE: The Goddard family is overwhelmed by your kindness, support and love being sent their way and want to express how thankful they are to each and everyone of you. At this time, they feel as though the amount raised is all they will need and any additional money collected, they would love to do something special in Ian's name. (Updated April 24th, 2021)
Dear friends, family, and community,
As many of you know, on Sunday, April 18th, 2021, the lives of the Goddard family were forever changed. Sadly, their youngest son, Ian, was taken from this world in a tragic accident, while he was out enjoying his last day of Spring break.
For those who knew and loved Ian, this news is absolutely devastating as he was only 14 years old and was one of the sweetest kids imaginable. He had the most infectious smile, a personality that could lift anyone's darkest day and most of all, he had a whole life ahead of him.
In this time of mourning, I am hoping we can all come together to help the Goddard family. I have learned over the years that they are always the first to help anyone in need. Whether it be someone close, or a complete stranger, Ian's parents, Monique and Brant, are always the first to want to help. That is their way. They have the kindest hearts and it is a true testament as to why Ian grew to be the amazing, loveable kid that he was.
As you can imagine, funeral expenses, time off and support needed for the family will no doubt add up. My hope is that together as a community, we can help relieve some of this weight from their shoulders.
Please know that any amount is greatly appreciated, and if you cannot donate at this time, sharing it will also go a long way.
This go fund me campaign is being run by Laura Doane with support from Janet Fisher, and our sincere thanks for your support.
