Support for the Hemingway Family
Donation protected
If you are here, you likely know the Hemingway Family. Chris Hemingway is a husband and father, an avid sailor, co-owner of CV Variety, and a lifelong resident of Dartmouth and New Bedford. Chris has battled terminal cancer for over a decade. Fiercely committed to his family and community, Chris has beaten the odds time and time again since his diagnosis in 2012 - when he was given just 2 years to live.
Despite his personal battle, Chris has never failed to be the first to step up to help out whenever you need a hand. From decades of supporting events and sailing races, The Blowout, and countless fundraisers, to helping you with a flat tire, loaning you a tool or cooler, an extra set of hands, his endless DIY knowledge, or pretty much anything you can imagine, Chris is the person you can always count on to be there.
Since his diagnosis of stage 4, metastatic colon cancer, Chris has surpassed every expiration date he has been given, until now. After a long, gritty, valiant battle, Chris and his family are preparing for the outcome that they have worked so hard to avoid. Chris is currently at home, with Cheryle, who has taken an extended leave from her work in the Early-Childhood Program at Friends Academy, to care for him as they navigate his final chapter.
The family is asking for privacy to move through this time. Please do not drop in. They are working through a whirlwind of emotions and appointments.
If you would like to connect with the family, please consider sharing photos, messages, or memories.

If you would like to support Chris and the Hemingway family please consider donating through this page. No other fundraisers are being organized. All funds from this page will go directly to Chris, Cheryle, Hannah, and Noah.
Your support will assist the family with everything from medical bills to final expenses and will help cover day-to-day expenses, giving them time to grieve and get back on their feet when the inevitable occurs.
