Support For Jasmine Hopkins and her 5 kids
Donation protected
Rich and Jasmine have a beautiful blended family with 5 amazing children, ages 2 to 15. On May 18, 2020, their family was devastated when Rich, Jasmine's partner-in-crime and dad to Isabella, Anthony, Sofia, Julia and Greyson, lost his battle with mental illness.
If you knew Rich, you knew him for his incredible heart. He would do anything for his friends and family, and be at your house in a heartbeat to repair a garbage disposal, give you an extra (intricately beautiful) coffee table he made in his woodworking shop, or simply sit around a fire pit and have a beer. He made his living caring for others as the director of an assisted living facility and would post videos of him and his elderly residents celebrating Cinco de Mayo/Taco Tuesday or dancing to a DJ's music blasting music from The King of Rock N' Roll.
Rich loved Jeeps and the Patriots, but the thing he loved more than anything in the world was his family. Jasmine and their 5 kids were his whole life, and he wouldn't hesitate to tell anyone and everyone how much he loved them. It's hard to believe that behind Rich's amazing heart and infectious smile was so much pain.
For Jasmine and the kids, losing Rich so unexpectedly has left them in absolute shock and despair. No one should have to worry about money while dealing with such a traumatic loss. We’re kindly asking for your support of Jasmine and family during this immensely difficult time by donating to assist with their rent, food and expenses for the next year. Removing even an ounce of stress and providing financial relief as they begin picking up the pieces and start their journey of healing in a world without Rich is our goal.
Please share this page with anyone and everyone. We hope that Jasmine and the kids' story will be met with compassion, understanding and abundant generosity.
Thank you for your love and support.
UPDATE:
We have removed the mention of one of Rich’s children from this GoFundMe campaign. An attorney for the child's mother informed me that I do not have permission to reference him.
To further clarify, the funds collected here are to “support and assist Jasmine with rent, food, and expenses for the next year.”
If the intent of your donation was for the direct or indirect support of Jackson Hopkins, please contact me, and I will coordinate with Jasmine in order to issue a refund of your donation within 24 hours.
References to Rich's other 5 children remain, and I have confirmed permission from Jasmine to reference them.
I apologize for any confusion or misunderstanding, and thank you all for your continued generosity during this incredibly tough time.

According to Psychology Today, "When a person dies by suicide, they leave behind an enormous amount of pain for their loved ones. As a result, many people believe the deceased acted selfishly, without consideration for the effects on others. However, this belief is one of the most harmful myths about suicide. The suicidal mode is an altered state of consciousness. When a person is battling with their demons and feeling hopeless, their thinking is often significantly distorted. They do not see reality the way they would if they were not in suicidal crisis. Their thoughts loop on the theme of how they are a burden to those they love. Their brains actively make a case for how others will not really miss them or that in the long run, those they love would be better off without them somehow."
Of course, this is not the case.
Treatment can help. This battle is one we must take on together.
