Support for the Jefferson's & baby Damoni

Hi, my name is Danielle. On January 20th I was brought in for a surprise induction, after a routine ultrasound showed my amniotic fluid was low, and the baby was measuring small. On January 21st I gave birth to our beautiful son Damoni. He cried once, and then was gasping for air. He was wisked away by the nurse's, and in that moment I knew something was wrong. About 30 minutes later I was told he was suctioned for fluid in his lungs, and he needed to be intubated as he could not breathe on his own. After some x-rays were done the doctor came back and said not only did he have fluid in his lungs, but there was air around one lung, and his blood pressure wasnt maintaining on his own. They advised us that our hospital did not have the medicine that Damoni needed for his lungs, and he would be transferred to the NICU at LHSC. 6 hours after giving birth, our son was transferred & I was discharged.

In London Damoni was still intubated, a tube was placed in his chest between his ribs to let the air out from around his lung (a week later his tube was removed and his lung collapsed), he was put on medication to help his blood pressure, he was on medication to help his PH balance & acidity in his blood, he was on antibiotics, morphine, and IV nutrients. With all these things going on, he had lines placed through his umbilical chord, this created a blood clot that is still being treated to this day. He is now on a blood thinner, and we are waiting on further treatment as the blood clot has calcified. We have now been at the RMH in London for 3 weeks, with our 3 year old Demari.

Even with a sick baby, real life still keeps going. Being as Devon is the bread-winner & we were not expecting all of this, he has had to take unexpected time off. Any help will be put towards travel, bills, and any unforseen/ overlooked expenses.
