For the last year, Jessica has noticed that during stressful times and sickness, her lymph nodes would become swollen and painful. Doctors struggled to explain what was happening or why she was experiencing pain.
On Friday, November 8, 2019 she finally got answers... she has large t-cell lymphoma.
It came as a shock to her and the family. However she was quickly transported to West Penn in Pittsburgh where she met her team of specialists in this exact field!!! Dr Khan and his team were absolutely incredible.... after reviewing her information and having a ct scan done, they came in extremely positive with news that lifted a billion pounds from Jessica and family!
They found the lymphoma extremely early, stage 1 ... everything is centralized in one location and they are confident that through "warrior treatments" she will kick this things ass!!!!
Through this bad situation Jessica continues to show positivity and feel calm. She has leaned into her faith and feels God walking her through each step.
After three days of treatment the bump, which started this all, was gone almost completely!!
There is still a long road ahead, but Jessica plans to tackle this thing with positivity and grace.... kick some ASS... and become STRONGER THAN EVER!!!!
She is facing about six months of chemo "warrior treatments" while traveling back and forth between Wheeling and Pittsburgh.
We're still fully assessing what they'll need to cover her lost income, medical bills, transportation, and child care, but we want her and Josh to be able to put all of their energy into her treatment and the kids -- not finances.
They're already feeling so much support from family and friends while many are asking how they can help and what they'll need. If you want to help, please consider any of the following:
