Support for the Mannion Family

Hi, my name is Amanda, and James Mannion is my brother-in-law. My sister, Nicole, is his wife and the mother of their two amazing children: Emily, age 8 and Brendan, age 5. On June 9th, James suffered a terrible fall and sustained a severe traumatic brain injury resulting in significant intracranial bleeding and brain swelling. To make matters worse, he was away for the weekend in Portland, ME on what was supposed to be a fun weekend trip with some old friends. In the past week and a half, James has endured multiple neurosurgical interventions, including the removal of part of his skull and a prolonged hospital stay in the neuro ICU (first at Maine Medical Center and now at Massachusetts General Hospital). He was also transported from Maine Medical to Massachusetts General Hospital via Life Flight. James was in a medically-induced coma for 10 days and currently does not have use of his left arm. We are starting this GoFundMe page to support James, Nicole and the kids as they navigate this difficult time. Nicole is a neuro-focused outpatient occupational therapist herself and has had to take time away from her patients to focus on James and his recovery. Anyone fortunate to have worked with Nicole knows that James is in the best of hands in terms of care. The Mannion family has a long road ahead of them. It is with a heavy heart and continued hope that we make this appeal for assistance to James and Nicole’s extended network during this unimaginably difficult time. We know it takes a village and are beyond grateful for any support that can be given.
