Support for the Morais Family

Friends, family and community members. I am reaching out on behalf of Louisa Morais and her family. If you know Louisa, you know a woman full of love, compassion, and selflessness. She is a kind and loving mother and friend. Unfortunately, Louisa was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Terminal Glioblastoma Brain Cancer. Glioblastoma is the most common and most aggressive type of brain cancer. It originates in the brain and will continue to invade other parts. It is incurable and has a very poor prognosis for survival rate.

We are starting this page to help assist Louisa and her family by raising money for whatever expenses that will be coming up in the weeks ahead that can help ease the weight of this nightmare. Louisa’s 22 year old daughter, Rosalie Morais, has taken on the roll of being her mother’s full time caregiver.

Since the diagnosis, Louisa has been released from the hospital into the hands of a rehabilitation center. Once released from the rehab center, she will be returning back home with the responsibilities falling on Rosalie to care for her and to get her to and from chemotherapy and radiation at Stony Brook hospital. With their residence being in Riverhead, her primary doctor in Manhasset and chemo/radiation treatment in Stony Brook, bills are adding up. Any donations will go directly to the family to help with medical bills, travel fees, food, housing expenses and any other avenue they can use the support. No donation is too small, anything will be greatly appreciated. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing this story for her and others like her.

Louisa is currently in good spirits and as healthy as she could be, given her diagnosis. Our biggest concern is keeping her comfortable and taking any stress of finances off of her at this tough time.
