Support for the Natter Family

My name is Jason Marler. My long-time friend, Sam Natter, was recently diagnosed with ALS. Sam is a father to 14 year-old Anna, a scholar athlete and champion junior swimmer, and husband to the love of his life, Shawndell. Sam is a Navy veteran and one of the nicest, most genuine people you will ever meet in your life. The only way to describe him is salt of the earth. The Natters are at the beginning of the most difficult fight of their lives. I know this because my father died from ALS. For those unfamiliar with ALS, it is a form of Motor Neuron Disease which causes the muscles to atrophy, leaving the person paralyzed until their passing. Sam is the family's sole provider as his beloved wife has faced her own health struggles in recent years. They will have many needs and expenses during this fight, including but not limited to handicapped transportation for doctor's visits, an electric wheelchair, a breathing apparatus to help him sleep at night, a lift to get him in and out of bed, modifications to the home and restroom, in-home care, medications, the list goes on. Our initial goal is to raise $100,000 for the family to help with expenses. More is better. Please help in any way you can and keep Sam and his family in your prayers.
