Support for the Peña Family

The Garrison and Marie Reed communities are partnering to create a relief fund for the Peña family, beloved members of both schools. Recent tragedy has struck their family, and placed Ms. Peña, a longtime Marie Reed staff member and parent, and grandparent of two Garrison students, in the hospital ICU. She has since stabilized, but the hospital bills, therapy and medications have heavily burdened their family. Ms. Peña is regarded by her family and those who have worked with her as a loving, sweet, quiet, and humorous woman. 

 

The Peña family has supported both the Marie Reed and Garrison communities for many years, and now they need our support.  Since the tragedy, Ms. Peña’s daughter Nery has had to assume the role of guardian of her siblings and take leave from her teaching job in order to ensure her family recovers.
