Support for the people of Agamsa, Amuru district
Donation protected
We hail from the Amuru district, and we are fundraising to support people devastated by the recent ambush by the Fanno militia.
On August 30, 2022, the Fanno militia attacked Agamsa town residents in Western Oromia, Ethiopia. Children, women, the elderly, and everyone woke up to the horrific terror unleashed by the militia. As a result of the senseless assault, dozens of civilians were mercilessly gunned down. Several people were kidnapped; others desperately ran to the bush to save their lives. Their property was looted, and the whole community was devastated.
Over 20,000 people fled their homes and have been sheltered in schools, faith places, and streets. Several media organizations have reported the unimaginable tragedy, including OMN, Addis Standard, ABC News, Al Jazeera, and Reuters.
These are our people, our family, and members of our community. Many of them raised us and positively impacted our lives. The psychological and financial need to rehabilitate the community is enormous. Most of those who were killed are grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, sons, and daughters. While we cannot bring back those lost lives, we like to stand with those impacted.
We humbly ask for your support for our people who have fallen victim to this unspeakable tragedy. We will ensure that every penny raised will reach the people affected by the #AgamsaMassacre.
We appreciate your support.
