Support for the Perry's from the fallen bridge

Hi, I am Erin Perry and my parents, Tyrone and Velva, were a part of the catastrophe of the collapsed bridge on Friday, January 28 at Frick Park in Pittsburgh, PA. On their way to provide care for our 93 year old grandmother, they were on the bridge at approximately 6:35am when it gave way. My dad describes seeing the bridge buckle from the end as they were headed across. My mom describes a feeling of being hit and experiencing the feeling of movement until they met the ground. As they came to understand where they were and what happened, a car came tumbling towards them, stopping only feet from their vehicle, landing on its side. And because the bridge collapsed on a gas line, they were instructed to evacuate the vehicle, both in excruciating pain. Endless gratitude to the first responders who came to their aid.
They were in the red truck at the bottom of the bridge.
From the accident, they both sustained fractures to their vertebrae. Neither are in need of surgery but both have a road of recovery ahead. Rest, rehab, and positive energy and nutrients will be their medicine as they mend the fractured bones in their back. Not sure when they will return to providing care for my grandmother, their mother and mother-in-law. This gofundme will be used to cover the costs associated with their care and their loss of income during the time of their recovery.
