Support the (Cahill) Sleggs Family Cancer Fight

Thank you for considering donating to this fundraiser. My name is Amy and I am raising $ for the Sleggs family. Howard was recently diagnosed with cancer in his spine. This is a devastating blow to the family that depends on his income. Howard is a native of our area, he has a lovely wife and two amazing children. Both Howard and his wife Laura have made caring for others their lifes' work.

Howard is a Physical Therapy Assistant, Licensed Massage Therapist, Farmer, and Carpenter. He travels to clients' homes providing treatment and rehabilitative services to patients who have experienced injury or disabling disease. In fact, he provided care for my mother after her hip replacement surgery. Howard also runs the family farm, raising grass-fed beef. He loves the outdoors, hunting and hiking, and working with his hands. He is in the middle of building a home for his family. All of this has come to a complete stop due to the disease he is now battling. He had an operation on his spine and will need radiation treatments daily for many weeks and possibly follow up surgeries.

His wife Laura is a holistic healthcare practitioner. Over the last 15 years, she has helped my family with ailments of all kinds from my child's strep throat to my husband's brain cancer. I cannot express the impact the Sleggs have had on my life adequately. They are loving, nurturers who are always caring for others. Howard is a wonderful father and husband, a caring practitioner, and a steward of our Earth. Since the family's only income now comes from Laura's business, she is torn between working to provide and being available to care for her husband and children. We can help alleviate some of that stress by providing financial assistance, allowing Laura to work less to be present with her family at this difficult time.
