Support for the Styer Family

Hi, my name is Amanda and I am raising funds for my parents, Grace and Alan. My dad was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2011 and Parkinson’s Disease Dementia in 2023. The last 6 months have shown how much more support my dad needs in his daily care and how much more support my mom needs as a caregiver.

In order to give my dad the best daily support as possible, we were able to find a wonderful caregiver about 3 months ago. My parents knew they were only able to have the caregiver for a few months financially speaking due to high costs of quality care and no insurance coverage available. Now that we are ending that time of financial possibility with the caregiver, it is even more clear how much she is needed especially as my dad continues to decline and have increased needs at home.

In order to continue to help keep my dad’s quality of life as high as possible and to keep him home for as long as possible, I am hoping to raise enough money for another month of care, or to relieve the burden of a few more months of care. There are also many other expenses that come up in terms of medication, equipment to help with mobility and cognitive issues, as well as gas money for the many doctors appointments and other programs related to Parkinson’s.
