Support for the sudden loss of father -Mark Taylor (MeatAXE)

To the close & wider community of Mark (MeatAXE) & Renee Taylor,

It is with heavy hearts that we reach out to the community to share the tragic news of the sudden passing of Mark Taylor on the evening of Saturday 15th February.

We are raising funds to help assist Renee and the children to offer some relief and support in this tragic time. This will help to cover funeral costs, childcare costs, and living expenses as Renee and the kids grieve this great loss. As you can imagine the last thing you want to be thinking of in a time like this is finances.

Mark suddenly passed away, leaving his wife, Renee, and the four children in shock & devastation. His loss has left an irreplaceable void in their lives, and they are now facing an unimaginable reality without him.

Mark was a dedicated family man who poured his heart into everything he did. He was a beloved husband, devoted father, friend, brother, and son. He was a loving father to four sons, Alaric (15), Jai (14), Jet (10) and Harlow (5). His love and care for them was profound, and he was the steadfast foundation upon which their family thrived. Mark was not only a devoted husband, but a gifted and generous artist who gained recognition globally for his hyper-realistic murals as MeatAXE, using his talent to touch lives far and wide. He was also an active member of the bodybuilding community, competing internationally and going on to found the expanding family supplement business Axe Laboratories. With a background in pharmacology his mission was to create quality, safe and reputable products to support healthy bodies.

On the 15th of February, Mark was taking his 5 year old son Harlow to a birthday party and suffered a medical emergency. Unfortunately Mark passed away despite attempted resuscitation, and without Renee or the kids being able to say goodbye.

Renee and Mark have been together for 8 years, and shared an incredible love and marriage ~ He literally showered Renee in gifts, poems, surprise holidays.. he tattooed her portrait onto his arm. Together they built a life to support a teeming family home with all the wildness you can imagine 4 kids, 2 dogs, and a bird can bring. In honesty it can be a real challenge and hard to manage even with both parents. The reality of Renee solo parenting her own kids and her family business is deeply concerning to Renee. Now without Mark, the weight of managing these together falls overwhelmingly on her.

HOW THE FUNDS WILL BE USED:

We are attempting to raise $100,000AUD to support the family in the monumental task of holding family life together in this unimaginable time, as well as the costs of running the family business. Both roles that Mark had significant input.

It is an unimaginable task, one that no one should have to face alone. While Renee takes time to grieve the loss of her husband, she needs the support of her community to help her navigate this overwhelming time. The business, which has been the heart of their livelihood, is facing financial strain, with ongoing costs, including overheads that keep the business running to support them. Temporary employment support is really essential at this time to ensure the business continues while Renee is relieved to have this time with her children..

We are reaching out with an immediate call to action to this community — together we can wrap the arms of the community around Renee, and her boys with love and support as they begin to figure out what life can look like without Mark. Any contribution you can make will help lighten the load as they move through this difficult journey, offering them the chance to heal and continue Mark’s legacy.

Though the loss of Mark has left a gap that feels impossible to fill.
