In Memory of Baljit - Support the Thandi’s

Dear friends, family, and compassionate strangers,

We are asking with a heavy heart and sincere request to help support my Brother in Laws young family. 39 year old Baljit Thandi sadly passed away on September 28th in his hometown of Squamish BC after a long on and off fight with brain cancer. Baljit’s fight started in 2005 and again in 2011 where he went though brain surgery and chemotherapy. He was an 18 year survivor yet had lasting trauma both physically and mentally from his battle. Through all hardships he fought to continue living a life filled with hope and happiness.

This year Baljit had started suffering from similar symptoms and again went through surgery to remove a tumour in his brain in June. With further investigation he was found to have grade 4 astrocytoma and leptomeningeal disease, cancer had spread into his spinal cord fluid.

Baljit and his wife and partner Nikki of 23 years welcomed a beautiful baby girl named Veda in December 2021. He has been a dedicated loving father who contributed to their household both financially and physically with their daughter. No matter the difficulty, Baljit fought with strength and preservation until the last days of his life. He wanted more than anything to live for Veda. Nikki had taken off work to support her husband during his last months and be home with their young daughter. We want to relieve some of the burden so she can grieve without stressing about finances and take the time they need to get back on their feet. The families are doing what they can to support them, but as we come together we can make a big difference to provide Nikki and Veda with the love, encouragement, and financial assistance they need during this heartbreaking time.

Any funds raised will be directly split to helping Nikki cover their living expenses in these coming months and the other portion will be a saving for their daughter Veda with memory of her father.
