Support for the Tobin Family

Carly Tobin is a Brave, Fierce little girl who also happens to be My Daughter’s Best Friend.
In late May, doctors found a tumor the size of a softball on Carly’s Kidney. Carly had an 8 Hour Extensive Surgery where they removed her Kidney and Lymph Nodes in the surrounding area. She was diagnosed with WILMS Kidney Cancer Stage 3 on June 21st. Two Weeks Post Surgery She started an Aggressive 6 Month Chemotherapy Treatment Plan and 6 Rounds of Radiation.  She Continues to Be Positive and Strong during this time and an Inspiration to Many.

Since day one, my daughter Brooke has been asking what she can do to help. As have many, many, many other friends, family and amazing supporters in Natick, Boston and beyond. Brooke and I have set up this Fund to help reduce Stress during this most difficult time and to help pay for the Many Expenses that unfortunately come with Battling Cancer.

According to her dad, “There is no better place on earth we can be than at Dana Farber/Children’s Hospital Boston, and that our daughter Carly is one of the toughest and strongest people on the planet, let alone for a 10-year-old girl. Every medication, every evaluation, every diagnosis and its effects all taken in and handled with the sass and spirit she has always had. The doctors, nurses, and staff all marveled at her, wondering how she could be so composed and together through it all. They called her the “Old Soul”.  She was always with a smile, a question, and a thank you no matter how she was feeling. Though this is considered to be a rare cancer especially for kids Carly’s age, the favorable diagnosis places it at a 98% recovery rate. We expect her to have a healthy and normal life with one successfully functioning kidney and no cancer.”

She has been cleared to start competitive dancing again and preparing for her travel soccer season under the watchful eye of her brother Jacob. It will all depend on how she feels day to day. She will be going back to School at the beginning of the year with some protocols in place. The goal is to make it as normal as possible for her.

As Carly says, "She is kicking Cancer's Butt" and it's all because of the love and support she has around her. #CarlyStrong #FierceLittleWarrior
