Support for the Valison Family after tragic loss
Donation protected
On Thursday, September 21st it was a sunny morning in Ravensdale, a small rural community in South King County. Nick Valison proudly mentioned to his wife that he had logged 625 miles on his shoes as he laced them up for what became his final walk with his beloved Alaskan Malamute, Nanuk. He planned to “retire” his shoes by days end and break in a new pair the following day. He kissed his beloved wife good-bye and set off on his usual morning walk down the hill around 7:30am.
When he had been warned that a suspicious vehicle and uhaul were at one of the neighbors vacant lots, he happened upon them to assess the situation. There has been an ongoing issue of illegal dumping in the neighborhood for years, with little help from the authorities to patrol and protect the streets, as they are understaffed and cover too large of a geographical area. Unarmed and alone, our dear friend and neighbor was brutally attacked and killed. It is such an inconceivable reality and his passing leaves a tremendous void for so many who were lucky enough to know him.
Nick leaves behind his college sweetheart, Tanie, to whom he has been married for 29 years, and his two beautiful daughters, Tessa, 22 and Anna, 14. As he was the sole provider for the family, the financial burden of such a sudden and tragic loss is insurmountable. Please consider donating to help this family in need. Donations will be used for funeral expenses, household bills, and other essentials to support the family through the upcoming weeks and months. If you find it in your heart to donate even the smallest amount, it would mean a great deal to the Valison family. We are so very grateful for your support. It is a long road ahead for this family but we will walk it together.
