In Memory of Alexandr Kirsanov and the Victims of AA5342

In memory of Alexandr "Sasha" Kirsanov and the victims of AA Flight 5342. All proceeds raised by Black Bear Sports Group and the Black Bear Youth Hockey Foundation will be distributed directly to the loved ones in our Black Bear community who were affected by this tragedy. These funds will help support the families with the hope of lessening the financial burden they must now face. Any contribution you can make is greatly appreciated.

As many of you may already know, Coach Alexandr “Sasha” Kirsanov tragically passed away following the accident involving American Airlines flight 5342.

In his many years with Ice World, Sasha coached, mentored, and made such an incredible impact not only on our young skaters but also on so many who knew and loved him. His absence will be felt deeply, along with the loss of so many others, with so much promise and life to live, from our ice skating community.

Sasha is survived by his wife, Natalya Gudin, another well-loved skating coach, and their 18 year old daughter Nicole.

We also tragically lost John Boyd, a father whose son plays for the Southern Maryland Sabres Youth Hockey club out of Capital Clubhouse in Waldorf, Maryland.

The pain and grief for these families left behind is immeasurable, and we are deeply sorry for their loss. We extend our love and support to Natalya, the Boyd family and all those who are suddenly left without these precious souls.

We know some fundraising efforts have been set up for victims, and we at Black Bear Sports Group and Black Bear Youth Hockey Foundation want to aid in the financial support for these families, as well as the other victims of this devastating tragedy.
