Support for the Wrightly family
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and community,
I am reaching out as a friend of Karlie and Jordan Wrightly, as well as their beautiful family. I have created this GoFundMe with their permission as a way for us to rally around them during an unimaginably difficult time.
On Thursday, January 23rd, at just nine days old, their newborn son, Hayes August Wrightly, was taken to the ER after a routine postpartum check-up revealed an elevated heart rate. Out of an abundance of caution, he was sent for further evaluation. However, things escalated quickly, and Hayes required life-saving resuscitative care.
He was urgently transferred to SickKids, where he was placed on full life support (ECMO) and he remained for four days. Miraculously, on day four, his incredible medical team determined that he was strong enough to come off ECMO and take the next steps.
Hayes remains in critical care, and there is a long road ahead. Doctors have said that he will remain in hospital for weeks or months. Please keep him in your thoughts as he navigates his recovery.
During this time, Karlie and Jordan have been staying at the Ronald McDonald House, while their older children, Miller and Emerson, are being lovingly cared for by family and brought to the hospital for visits.
This GoFundMe is a way for us to show our love and support as they navigate the emotional and financial burdens of this journey. Any contribution will go toward easing their stress and allowing them to focus entirely on Hayes' recovery.
The family is so grateful for the love, support and meals that have already been provided by close friends and family.
Thank you for standing with the Wrightly family during this time. Your kindness and generosity mean the world to them.
With gratitude,
Alli
