My father, Tou Yang, passed away on May 1st due to a heart attack. He was at the garden with my mother, aunt, and uncle like every other weekend when he collapsed. He was pronounced dead before they arrived at the hospital.
My father and mother were married for many years. They came to the USA with my eldest brother in the 80's in hopes of a better life. From there they had a total of 6 children-- 2 boys and 4 girls. I'm the eldest daughter. My father went above and beyond to give us an amazing childhood-- from surprising us with a puppy to getting us Valentine's Day gifts every year, he gave us everything we could ever want without asking for much in return. Whenever we needed help, he didn't hesitate to give us what we needed no matter how little or much it was.
My father was a funny and caring person. You could joke around with him and he'd do the same right back. My parents provided a comfortable home environment for not only their children but for our cousins as well. My childhood home was considered as the place to hang out because we could enjoy ourselves and have fun. As other family came to the USA, my parents offered their home as a safe haven until our family members were able to find a place for themselves.
My father worked full time to provide for the family financially. During his free time, he enjoyed hunting, spending time with the family, and working at the garden.
The funds from this gofundme campaign will go towards funeral expenses and possible legal expenses. If anything is left over, it'll be sent to a bank account for my mother to use on everyday expenses, such as food, bills, etc. Since my father was the main source of income, we're trying our best to come up with ways to help my mother during this difficult time.
My father was young and still had many years ahead of him. It was a huge shock when my mother contacted me about the horrible news.
