Support for Thomas Struck's Cremation and Memorial
Donation protected
It is with extreme sadness that we announce that on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 our father, Thomas Struck, suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm. He has been unconscious and unresponsive in the Critical Care Unit at the hospital since then. He is connected to life support that we have had to make the impossible decision of taking him off of.
Our Dad, Tom, has been living a difficult life the past few years and unfortunately (and obviously) this came as unexpected and he did not make any prior arrangements for his next chapter. As his sons and next of kin, we are not in a financial position to absorb all of the costs of cremation and a memorial. Asking for financial help on this platform is not easy for us, as we don't like to ask for help because we typically help others as they need it. That being said, if you are able to honor us with a gift of a donation to help us pay for the cremation and memorial it would mean so much to us. Any funds over our goal will be donated to non-profits which aid in actually helping the unhoused rehabilitate and reintegrate people with alcohol dependencies.
While our dad didn't always make the best decisions with his own life, he had a huge heart and a lot of compassion for others. He cares so much about others that he signed up to be an organ donor and may have 4 organs that can be used to save 4 lives! He gave anyone who asked for it a helping hand and would strike up a conversation with every random person he came in contact with. He loved to share stories about his childhood and teenage years with us. He loved to laugh, especially at a good fart joke. His laugh was infectious. He loved to watch any and all sports. A huge fan of the Dodgers, Padres, Chargers, and the Lakers. He was a proud native Angelino and enjoyed all that the city offered. He tried to attend church every Sunday, read his bible daily, and spoke often about God and his desire to try to live his life following the path that God wanted him to follow.
He was physically an extremely hard worker and took pride in his hard work. At age 57 (soon to be 58) he was still very active.
If he is/was aware of his circumstances today, he would have pulled the tubes out and jumped out of bed on his own.
He was a good Dad, Son, Brother, Uncle, Nephew, Cousin, and Friend.
He wasn't always around but we knew he loved us and the rest of his family and friends very deeply.
Any gift that you are able to contribute will give so much light and positivity to us in this situation.
With Love,
Tyler and Dylan Struck
