As many of you know, it was a long, hard journey to finally get to these miracle babies, Tucker and Bennett. After years of infertility, treatments, procedures, tests, etc., the Lord blessed Hannah and Jared with their miracle babies through IVF. They were born at 35 weeks, which in their case meant NICU stays, surgery, etc.
The boys were not gaining weight as they should, so it’s been a long process of figuring out different ways for them to gain the weight they need. They’ve changed their eating routines more times than we can count and eventually had to get NG tubes. This has been a tough process on the boys and Hannah and Jared. They finally concluded that getting a G tube surgically placed in each boy would be the best option for now. Throughout this process they have been working with a medical team to get to the bottom of what could actually be going on.
This week has been a hard week because the boys not only had their G tube surgeries and more testing, but also finally got their official diagnosis. They have a rare genetic disorder called Congenital Disorder of Glycosylation Type 1 A. There are only around 900 cases in the whole world.
There is no treatment. Essentially their bodies are not processing sugars correctly. This can effect them in MANY different ways. A lot of the symptoms are pretty extreme. Although we are so very heartbroken for our precious babies and this is not the news we were hoping for, we know the Great Physician! We know what He can do! These boys came into this world as miracles and they will live their FULL lives as miracles! We believe they will be world changers! We are speaking life and healing into existence!
We want to thank everyone who has prayed for Hannah and Jared and the boys during these last 6 months! All the meals and help they have received is SO appreciated! Please keep the prayers coming as we all process our new normal!
Jared and Hannah have insurance that will help with medical expenses, but we all know there are so many additional expenses (travel, loss of work income, lengthy hospital stays, etc.) that could be overwhelming. This GoFundMe has been established to show our love and support and to do what we can to alleviate the financial pressure.
We know they will continue to have doctors appointments, physical therapy, medications, etc. in the days to come. If you would like to help them in this way, they would be so greatly appreciative. Above all they would just love your continued prayers throughout this journey and continued faith for miracles!
As friends of Jared and Hannah and their extended families, it is our hope that this GoFundMe will be a demonstration of our love. We join our faith with theirs for miracles for Tucker and Bennett.
Thank you for your generous support. Please share this on your social media platforms.
