Support for Tyler's fiancé and children
Donation protected
In the early hours of Thursday February 29, my brother Tyler passed away unexpectedly. Many people who knew and loved Tyler and our family knew he struggled with substance use for a long time. Many of us worried constantly that he would die of an overdose, and for the past 8 years that has faded away. Although not clear right now, Tyler likely died from an infection after getting a cold that wouldn’t let up. The irony he would feel and get a good laugh out of if he was here fills a tiny bit of the hole he left in our hearts by leaving too soon.
As many of you know, Tyler has a beautiful family; his fiancé Whitney, and his children Nolan (9) and Adalynn (7). Whitney is faced with the unimaginable task of being a single parent and figuring out what is next. While navigating the current situation, the house where they were living has become uninhabitable due to the furnace breaking and oil being leaked and flooded into their apartment and bedrooms. I know - wtf, I haven’t stopped saying the f bomb since Thursday but I’m pretty sure I can’t write that here. We want to be able to find a way to help Whitney and the kids, and move them all either closer to us or to her family, or to Bora Bora if she wants. None of us want to have had to set this up and ask for help, but Whitney and the kids deserve to be near people who can offer emotional and tangible support for the kids and herself. Tyler would have wanted them to move close to people who love them, and so I write this with that in mind.
I appreciate all of the love and support that everyone has offered our family in this shitty time. I always say, “how lucky are we to have someone worth this pain”, and I find solace in knowing how lucky we all are to have had Tyler in our lives. We will have a service at Phaneuf Funeral Home (Coolidge Ave) in Manchester, NH on Friday, March 8th and welcome anyone who knew and loved Tyler and our family to come by. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you for supporting Whitney and the kids in the various ways you all have.
