Support for Unjustly Arrested Community Members

Donation protected
On Wednesday, May 15, four community members were unjustly arrested after our peaceful rally and demonstration commemorating the 76th anniversary of the Nakba. The U.S. government is arming and supporting an ongoing genocide in Palestine, and our local government is wasting resources wrongly prosecuting peaceful protestors. But we refuse to be silenced. It is our duty to speak out for the innocent Palestinians who are being killed using OUR tax dollars. The genocide has persisted for 7 months and 76 years.

Our four community members face misdemeanor charges and require legal counsel to fight this political repression. We are seeking assistance to help them pay for lawyers and other erroneous charges that the city may bring forth. We base our ask on an average retainer multiplied by four people.

This country was founded on the right to free speech, especially the right to protest. It is our duty under international law to speak out against the genocide happening in Gaza. We did nothing wrong. The GRPD arrested these protestors to create an environment of intimidation, targeting people they perceived to be organizers. They are attempting to silence protestors but we will not be silenced.

We thank the community for their continued support!
