Support for Walton Bowlers as vandals trash historic club
Donation protected
Last week, we were devastated to discover the historic bowls clubhouse in Walton Hall Park had been broken in to and trashed by vandals. During three attacks in one week, toilets were smashed, trophies destroyed and fireworks set off leaving a trail of destruction.
The clubhouse is used by local bowls team members in their 70s and 80s, and is a big part of their lives, keeping them active and offering them a sense of community and friendship. It's also used by mental health community group Urban Health, giving accessible support to individuals struggling with anxiety and depression.
The actions of this small minority have caused a lot of anguish and pain for those relying on the use of the clubhouse, with memories lost and the club shut in the short term.
We are now asking for your support to make sure the clubhouse can come back bigger and better. We want to give the members hope to carry on with the sport they love by replacing the items damaged and provide them with new equipment and appliances to once again enjoy the game. Lets show that a loving, empathetic community is more powerful than a small minority.
Thank you all for your support x
