Support for Wasielewski Family After Eaton Fire Home Loss
Donation protected
My sister Laura, her husband Aaron, and their four kids Oliver (15), Lewis (12), Max (9), and Pearl (6), lost their home of more than a decade to the Eaton Fire in Los Angeles on Jan. 8. So much of their beloved Altadena community has been destroyed, and the level of devastation and loss is tremendous. This is a fundraiser to help them get the essentials they need to stabilize their family's situation and longterm, to rebuild their home and the community they love, especially as the insurance process is likely to be a lengthy one given the extent of the destruction in LA right now.
The wind and dangerous nature of the fire left very little time to prepare and get out, and the Wasielewski family lost nearly everything, including one vehicle. Adding to the stress, they have been living out of suitcases for the past month in Oklahoma to help with our dad who is fighting cancer right now. They only had about 24 hours back at home in LA before the Eaton Fire forced their evacuation.
They have some leads for short-term housing, but they could use support for immediate needs such as clothes, food, a vehicle, and school supplies for the kids, who are homeschooled. They say it is hard to know where to start because they need everything but also at the moment have no place to put anything.
Laura and her family have been a great blessing to me in hard times, and I know they have been a blessing to many of you.
Let's show the Wasielewskis some love by supporting them through this tremendous loss!
