We are seeking support for the Weston family as they grieve the sudden loss of their precious daughter, Sydney, and work through the immediate and ongoing needs related to her passing.
Lovingly written by Sydney's family...
Sydney Mae Weston, age 8, of Carl Junction, MO left this world on June 13, 2024. She was very much looking forward to her family summer vacation and celebrating her 9th birthday the following week with her big plans for a skating party.
Born June 21, 2015, Sydney Mae bounced into this world ready to light it up with her infectious joy and vigorous love for life. She will forever be remembered for the happiness she brought to every single person she encountered. Our hearts are heavy. She was our baby girl and we celebrate her beautiful life.
Sydney is survived by her parents, Dan and Whitney Weston, and her adoring brother, Evan (age 11), Carl Junction, MO; grandparents: Teri Carlson (Carl Junction), Kerry Weston (Branson), Glenn Weston (Branson), Max Carlson (Thelma); great grandmother Martha Wolf (IA), aunts and uncles: Kristi Rodriguez (Grand Prairie, TX), Josh and Shannon Weston (Whispering Pines, NC), Chris and Dustin Weston (Carl Junction), Melissa Reynolds (Reeds Spring, MO) Chelsea and Jeremiah Cline (Springfield, MO) and Ryan Weston (Branson).
She loved her family and friends, including extended family with her many cousins, great aunts and uncles that were all so special to her. And we cannot forget her friends, of which there are far too many to list. Her friends were so important to her, and she was a good friend to everyone. She also loved her precious puppy, Birdie.
She had an unmatched joy for learning. Her teachers and school administration at Carl Junction all loved Sydney. She hugged every teacher on the way into school each morning. Her sign language goodbye with dad at school drop-off was a special moment they enjoyed every day.
Sydney was a ray of sunshine and summer was her season. The pool was her place to be – we called her the fish. Armed with her flippers and goggles, she could swim under water better than anyone else. Her favorite was being tossed though the air by daddy.
She was a girly girl who loved all things pink and pretty and a tomboy all in one. She’d never turn down an outdoor adventure: fishing with dad and brother, playing with remote cars, and digging into the dirt. Perhaps even more telling was her love of action/adventure movies and musicals all at the same time. She enjoyed soccer and golf.
Her favorite place was Silver Dollar City, with Powder Keg as her personal favorite! Taylor Swift’s Karma was her jam and we always dreamed of taking her to a concert. She couldn’t get enough of Greatest Showman, even though she wasn’t the best singer we loved her singing and will rejoice in the memory of her beautiful offkey voice. Family game night was her absolute favorite – she could out best anyone at memory games. She was well versed in politics and curious about your voting standards even from a young age. We know she would have been a voice of reason and power for all who needed someone in their corner.
Sydney was preceded in death by her great grandparents Bob and Maxine Carlson, Loren and Patty Giger, Gerald Wolf, and Barbara and Joseph Hoyt; and her great uncle David Wolf.
