Support for Y Staff Recovering from Flood

Hello,

My name is Sydney Lara & I am a Child & Youth Development Director at the Ryan Family YMCA. I am heartbroken to share that three of my staff members have been significantly impacted by flooding on Monday, January 22nd, 2024. They have lost their homes, cars, and all of their belongings. One of the staff members has a 1 year old daughter. They are currently taking shelter in a nearby hotel room but only have that reserved for the next 4 days. Please see the list of needs below, both immediate and long term. Any support is highly appreciated. I will be the point of contact for any donations. I will also be receiving the funds raised on this page and then distributing them evenly between each person affected. Thank you for your support!

Immediate Needs:

-Clothes (2 females size XL, 1 male size M, 1 baby girl size 18-24 months)

-Basic needs for her baby (diapers- size 6, diaper cream, wipes, jackets, shoes-size 5, clothes especially warm clothes)

-Laundry detergent so they can try to salvage some clothes & bed sheets, blankets, etc.

- Towels

-Toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, soap, tooth paste, etc.)

-Blankets, pillows

-Gift cards for food & groceries

Long term:

-Their landlord got them a hotel for 5 days, after that they will need housing.

-They were told that they will minimally need to be out for 6 weeks if all that is needed is a remodel, but up to a year if building damage is more severe.

-Furniture, beds, etc.

-Cars (all three lost their cars, they are not repairable)
