Support Francisco Ruiz's Family After Tragic Loss

Hi, my name is Arath Alcantara. I am here asking for support for my best friend's family. Unfortunately, on the morning of 02/25/2025, Francisco Ruiz, a Union carpenter of Chicago, suffered an electrical discharge and passed away. He was with another colleague up on a boom lift and they unfortunately made contact with one of the power lines, which developed an electrical discharge through Francisco’s body, costing him his life. The other worker survived and is in stable condition at the hospital.

I am just here to say he was a hardworking man who survived cancer 3 times and never gave up. He was an amazing father, husband, and especially a friend. He was always there when needed and would go out of his way to make sure everyone around him was okay. He did a lot of community service, never expecting something in return. I have no words to explain how it feels to lose someone this way.

I am here trying to gather some support for the family now that his wife has been left with 3 kids to take care of alone. Anything could help her get through this difficult situation. Thank you for your support, everyone.
