Support Fred Russell's Final Celebration
Donation protected
On Wednesday 10/23/24 I lost my father and my best friend. I struggle to put into words what he meant to me and what he taught me about life and being a man. My life will never be the same but I am grateful for all of you for your love and support during these difficult times. One thing my father taught me is the true value of friendship and that many times the bond of friendship greatly outweighs that of blood. I am honored that his friends are more like uncles and aunts to me than mere acquaintances.
I am doing my best to give my pops the final send off he deserves. As per his wishes, he will be cremated and his ashes spread. Instead of a funeral or memorial service, Fred asked that we have a celebration in his honor.
Saturday November 9th at 2pm we will gather in his honor at Our Place in Fountain City TN. We will have food, drinks, Fast Freddy's Dill Pickles, share stories and laughs and cheer on the Big Orange together!
Your help to honor Fred's last requests is humbly needed and greatly appreciated!
Thank you for your time and consideration, obituary listed below.
Fred Steven Russell (Fast Freddy) crossed the Big Orange & White checkerboard bridge in the sky to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday 10/23/24. Fred was blessed to have many friends throughout his life. His quick witted humor, affinity for a perfect moniker and his many stories made a lasting impression that will keep his memory alive for many years to come. He was preceded in death by his father Steave Russell, mother Johnnie Fleenor, step-father Rhea Fleenor, cousin and best friend Gary "Fat Boy" Russell and best friends Richard "Captain" Fennel, Ray Hatfield and Rick Cox. His legacy is carried on by his son Eroc "Rico" Russell and daughter in law Nickie Russell, granddaughter Nora Russell, best friends Mark Daniels, Bud England and Gary Dalton, special friend Brenda Brooks and very special "like a son" friend Mark Singleton. As per Fred's final wishes, there will not be a funeral or memorial service. Instead, there will be a celebration of life at Our Place in Fountain City TN November 9th at 2 pm where we will have food, beer, Fast Freddy's Dill Pickles and cheer on the Vols in his memory. In lieu of flowers, live plants may be sent to Our Place.
