Support Freddy's Battle with Cancer to Save his Life

We are coming together to try and help one of our long-time team members, Marisa Tate. Many of you have grown to know and love Marisa over the nine plus years she worked at Sniff. Marisa is the biggest animal lover and advocate, and many of you have known her for her out of this world empathy and for caring for every dog that has come through our doors like one of her own. Marisa recently took some time away from Sniff to care for her dog Jelly after a double TPLO surgery. We are happy to announce that Jelly’s recovery went well but are devastated to learn that her dog Freddy has now been diagnosed with two forms of cancer.

Freddy is a spunky little terrier mix that Marisa adopted eight years ago after his previous owner fell on tough times. Freddy has imprinted himself on the hearts of all our Sniff employees and anyone who has been lucky enough to meet this firecracker, and our goal is to help support Marisa and Freddy through these tough times. Freddy is in need of radiation therapy for a tumor growing on his spine causing him significant pain. He will also need to be treated for bladder cancer. Marisa has been a selfless champion for our guests at Sniff for so many years and has also worked tirelessly in the rescue community to help dogs in need. It’s our turn to give back to her during her time of need and support her beloved Freddy and get him the treatment he needs to get his spark back.

Freddy has already incurred over $8,000 in medical expenses and still has a long road ahead in getting the care he needs to beat these two forms of cancer. Thankfully, there is a vet close by that can perform stereotactic radiation therapy, which is the recommended treatment plan for his spinal tumor. This therapy will also help start the process of addressing his bladder cancer once the radiation has been successful. Freddy has the potential for a long life ahead of him if we can get him through this process, and we are asking for your help to do so! Our goal is to raise the $15,000 needed for the stereotactic radiation therapy, but how wonderful would it be if we could come together as a community to also help cover the $8,000 in costs she’s already incurred. On the heels of Jelly’s double TPLO surgery, Marisa has been hit back-to-back with extreme medical costs. Marisa has done so much for the animal community as a whole and we would love to be able to show her that same love when her and her pack need it most!
