Support Fringe Public Health

Fringe Public Health, or Fringe for short, is a drop-in center located right on Sullivant Avenue in the Hilltop neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. Fringe has provided low-barrier harm reduction services to thousands of clients who are engaged in sex work and drug use and are otherwise marginalized by dominant systems of healthcare and housing. Fringe has become a community cornerstone because we provide resources at operating hours that no other organization does. Fringe is open overnight, a time when so many people want resources and a space to rest yet virtually every other center in the city is closed. Fringe is right in the center of the action, saving lives and guiding others to do the same. Because we base our work in harm reduction philosophy and solidarity over charity, we are able to be a part of the community in ways that other organizations simply are not.

Fringe is lucky enough to lease a wonderful space at the corner of Sullivant Avenue and Wrexham Avenue in Columbus, Ohio. We are fundraising for $12,000 to cover our lease for the next year, so that we can keep serving the Hilltop community without pause. We need help to continue this vital work in a place being torn apart by tragedy and suffering. With this money, we can make sure that Fringe can meet its community members' needs for Narcan, condoms, first aid, hygiene products, nutritious snacks, showers, laundry, and bathroom access. We partner with the Ohio Department of Health to provide Narcan and condoms to our community free of charge. Fringe purchases the rest of our inventory ourselves. None of this is possible without the space we have built in our drop-in center, where people come not just to receive resources but also to engage in community and learn about the lives and experiences of each other. Every dollar goes directly to sustaining the mission of building community and reducing harm in the Hilltop.
