Support CSRA Families After Devastating Hurricane

Donation protected
Who would have thought that a Category 4 hurricane crossing onto land over 300 miles away would remain a Category 1 hurricane by the time it hit the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA).

The CSRA had winds strong enough to take down the largest trees in the area, roots and all. Hundreds of homes were deemed a total loss. 25 folks here lost their lives, including a mother and her newborn twins, from either trees falling on their homes or from attempting to help others get out of their homes.

A week after, 75% have power back, which has led to millions of dollars in spoiled food, medical equipment degradation, access to water in homes, and standard emergency services.

Many were forced to travel more than an hour to purchase fuel, generators, food, water, and basic necessities.

Immediately after the storm, most folks had to either cut their way out of their property or wait until help arrived.

Most folks had all frozen and refrigerated goods lost. Many were forced to evacuate to places where food, water, and fuel were available at their own expense. The Georgia Air National Guard was able to step in and offer some financial aid, families in the area still have a long way to go towards full recovery.

When our friends return home, many will be faced with restocking their pantry and fridge, dealing with insurance companies to repair homes, vehicles, fences, and remove trees and debris.

While there are months of work ahead to clean up this mess, the support to the GA friends and their families from fellow Americans has been overwhelming.

Everyone was without power for at least 5 days. 7 days later, most regained power and were able to return home and begin the process to repair damages.

Any proceeds received that are above the amount for caring for the community will be donated to a charitable organization to help heal and rebuild.
