Hello! My name is Gabriella Romero and I'm a junior biology major on the pre-PA track at the University of Texas at Austin. I have been accepted to go to the Dominican Republic in December with Global Medical Training (GMT), a non-profit, national organization that allows students like me to assist qualified physicians in delivering essential medical care to underserved regions abroad.
Through the UT Austin chapter of GMT, I have the incredible opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the medical field while making a meaningful impact on communities in need. We will be traveling to the Dominican Republic, where we will work alongside local healthcare providers to offer medical care, health education, and support to those in need.
The funds raised will cover:
- Travel expenses (flights, accommodation, and local transportation)
- Medical supplies and equipment
- Necessary vaccinations and travel insurance
- Food and daily necessities during the trip
- Toys and small gifts for children who come into the clinic
