Urgent: Please Help Gabrielle Fight Life-Threatening Pancreatic Failure
My name is Kimberly Simpson, and I'm reaching out with a mother’s plea for help. My daughter, Gabrielle, is facing a life-threatening battle with chronic pancreatitis.
In 2023, Gabrielle experienced severe back pain and visited a chiropractor. An X-ray revealed a concerning spot in her abdomen. Since then, Gabrielle's health has rapidly deteriorated. She suffers from intense and persistent abdominal pain, debilitating gastrointestinal dysfunction, recurring episodes of fainting, and oftentimes has become bedridden, unable to pursue a normal life.
After months of struggle, Gabrielle was finally referred to a gastroenterologist. Shockingly, they discovered a massive calcification in her pancreas blocking her pancreatic duct preventing the normal diffusion of insulin throughout her body. This blockage has caused her pancreas to atrophy and the onset of chronic pancreatitis. This is an uncurable and rare condition, especially for someone her age (32) who does not drink alcohol.
Further medical procedures by her local doctors in Miami, FL revealed that the calcification is too large for routine surgical removal. Even conducting a biopsy poses a significant risk of further damaging her already compromised pancreas. Sadly, her doctors were unable to offer any treatment options.
Hope on the Horizon:
After much effort, we were overjoyed to learn that Gabrielle was accepted as a patient at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN where she is now under the care of a highly specialized pancreatic surgeon and his team of specialists. During her recent visit to Mayo Clinic in January of this year, she was fully evaluated and scheduled for a specialized surgery attempting to remove the calcification and try to save her pancreas. If the surgery is successful, she will return home in March to convalesce and look forward to the resumption of a normal life.
My Amazing Daughter:
Gabrielle is a vibrant young woman with devotion to care for others in pain. She has travelled the world and studied many different modalities and forms of healing. Before her diagnosis she was planning to return to school to earn a master’s degree in counseling psychology and go on to become a licensed mental health counselor, perhaps even pursuing a PhD. This illness has devastated her physically and emotionally. She is unable to work and pursue her passion to help others heal.
Your Support is Crucial. We need your help:
While Gabrielle's insurance will cover a portion of her medical expenses, the remaining costs are staggering. We are facing significant expenses for: airfare and accommodations for multiple trips to Mayo Clinic (potentially lasting several weeks each); ground transportation; specialized nutrition, and essential supplies; nutritional counseling; therapy to address the emotional and psychological impact of this illness, and acupuncture to support her overall well-being as she recovers. Gabrielle is also receiving care from a homeopathic practitioner.
Please join me in supporting Gabrielle’s healing journey. Your generosity, no matter the size, will make a difference in Gabrielle's return to a strong, happy, and healthy life.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for standing with us in the fight.
