Support Gabriel, Mona, and Kids in Relocation and Healing

Dearest friends, family, and community,

Gabriel, Mona, and their two young children have a serious problem with their current housing. They need to move ASAP and are asking for financial support from their wider community. They have hit a point where they need help in order to weather this season of life. Gabriel is currently disabled and Mona is in search of work while caretaking for her family.

• Gabriel contracted COVID shortly after the birth of their second child and was diagnosed with long COVID a few months later when their health started to rapidly decline. Gabriel is currently working with a long COVID clinic and a network of doctors and care providers, but the disease burden is great as there is currently no cure.

• Recently they have learned that their rental home has significant water damage and multiple strains of toxic mold which is severely exacerbating Gabriel’s health conditions and causing the children to have skin rashes.

• On the week of October 13th, Gabriel was hospitalized with a life-threatening sepsis infection. The immunologists and infectious disease doctors have recommended relocating ASAP and letting go of the majority of their belongings which are infected with mycotoxins and mold spores and would continue to make them sick if brought to their new home.

The need to replace the majority of their belongings while also securing a new lease and then moving is incredibly daunting. This will be a profound upheaval of their life—physically and emotionally strenuous, and with a huge financial toll. They cannot do it alone.

We encourage those who are able to consider donating. Gabriel, Mona, and their two children always appreciate the beauty of small things, and believe every gesture counts. We love this family! They have so much to get through right now. We can help them through this by giving what we can so that they can focus on taking care of the kids, healing their health and setting up a new home.
