Support Gabriel's Stem Cell Journey

Donation protected
Hello, this is our amazing little fighter and miracle baby, Gabriel. He is one of the happiest, most determined boys you will ever meet. Those who have had the opportunity to meet him know Gabriel is full of life and energy with an infectious laugh that will make anyone smile.

Due to a high-risk twin pregnancy, Gabriel and Luka were suddenly born prematurely at 31 weeks, Gabriel suffered lack of oxygen, requiring intubation for his first 24 hours of life. This incident led us to a difficult diagnosis of cerebral palsy last year. As a result of this diagnosis, Gabriel has faced global developmental delays.

Luckily, since it was caught at a young age, Gabriel has been immersed in multiple weekly physical, occupational, and speech therapies at home and outpatient services. Most recently, completing an intensive three-week program at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and another scheduled in May with NAPA Boston.

Gabriel puts in great effort during his therapy sessions and has made remarkable progress since starting his journey. His twin brother, Luka, is his biggest motivator, encouraging him to keep going even when therapy gets difficult.

After endless research, we have decided to participate in a clinical trial study being held at Duke University, which consists of donated cord-blood stem cells. Although the cord blood is donated by the university, the transfusion is an out-of-pocket expense. Duke University has been at the forefront of stem cell research and development techniques, offering potential life-changing treatments for conditions such as cerebral palsy. We hope that these stem cells will reach and repair the damaged brain tissue, potentially improving motor control.

Unfortunately, cerebral palsy is one of the most expensive conditions to have due to the ongoing need for specialized medical treatments, therapies, etc. Since medical insurance only covers a portion of these costs, it can put a financial strain on families affected by it.

We are asking you to join us and donate whatever you can towards Gabriel's upcoming stem cell transfusion costs at Duke University. All money donated will assist with the procedure itself and traveling expenses.

We would like to thank everyone that have reached out to our family in one way or another and included us in your prayers. We love you all and will keep you updated on Gabriel's progress and journey as we move forward with this process.
