Support Galle's Land Back Dream

Donation protected
This is a serious aquaculture-based indigequeer led & centered farm temple project. the first in Peru and Latin America. made with so much love and illusions. i don’t come from money and never thought i would be able to do this. eternally grateful to life for making way to heal and share within my lifetime; to transcestors for handing down the mission to be happy; to Pachamama for being the infinite source of life that will compost me; and to you all. this is also a water invocation amidst the most severe drought in Amazon history.

returning to the land is an immense privilege; and i dream of fulfilling it by returning the favors that life has given me. by helping my queer community in Peru. by giving back space to reestablish connection with our ancestral lands in meaningful ways, protecting nature.

Hola I'm galle. Earlier this year I acquired 5 hectares of land back in the place where I grew up, the Peruvian Amazon, where the Amazon meets the Andes. I've been able to take the first step of buying the land, now I need help to continue forming this dream: the queer farm, the ecological arts residency, an indigiqueer sanctuary in harmony with Mother Earth, Mother Water, Grandfather Wind, the sacred mountains, the spirits of the forest, the stars that illuminate us, and with the indigenous peoples that surround us.

My background is displacement by colonization, and indigenous transfeminist resistance wherever i go. This includes more than 50 projects that I have made available to the community in Peru and New York at no cost, such as my ancestral food sovereignty project Vivir Sabrosa, precolumbian healing rituals, tattoo ceremonies, transfeminist film screenings, dance parties, and fundraisers for indigenous communities.

Back in the 80’s queer people were killed by military terrorist groups in this part of the Amazon, in the name of “social cleansing”. i grew up here during this nightmare. i understand the fear of my mother, how hard was to overcome the trauma! but how significant is for us to reclaim space, now that I have the land I feel the responsibility in telling our story of queer joy!

1. Mother Water: in the first phase of this project, I propose an aquatic land-back. Water is our first home, our origin, and we couldn't survive without Her. She is medicine, and it makes perfect sense to start any sustainability project, like a farm from sacred aquaculture. My plan is to investigate the care of water and the medicinal plants that grow next to Her, from an indigiqueer perspective. By identifying medicinal plants and aquatic-liminal creatures in their sexual becoming, we can find affinities that result in mutual care and interspecies queer pride. The result of this research will culminate in the design of an (im)permanent Amphibian Garden of Queer Medicine.

From this queer and sustainable water design, the foundations of Vivir Sabrosa will be cemented. Beyond a safe space; we would have water, food and queer medicine year round at our fingertips, aside of being a swimming paradise. An ideal place of queer abundance to flourish together in ecological art-making, in harmony with indigenous teachings and Mother Earth.

I’m doing this with the guidance of 3 local indigenous healers, friends and queer people in the area, in total reverence of the sacred forest. please help us kickstart our queer farm dream, beginning with securing water and life.

the land is ready waiting for us.

PS1. if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me. you can verify that my indigenous and transfeminist resistance is nothing new via instagram: gallermic or Vivir Sabrosa . if you are in Lenapehoking (New York), my indigequeer food sovereignty project Vivir Sabrosa organizes events with delicious ancestral food, superherbal drinks, ritual performances, medicine and beautiful people. We are excited to create a community in the process of building this dream. Opening a farm needs money but also humans! keep in touch, we’d love to see you <3
