Support Galveston Ballet

Galveston Ballet provides a safe educational classroom setting that leaves a positively impactful experience to children, while providing lifelong skills of discipline, hard work, and training in the art of classical and contemporary ballet. We provide our dancers the opportunity to perform in a full-length ballet production every spring, as well as the Nutcracker Suites performances in the winter. We build full-sized sets and use costuming to further the impact of the performances. Unfortunately, due to effects from Covid-19, our ability to fund these productions has been dramatically decreased. We feel that we provide a unique experience for our community that no other organization can offer.

 

Due to recent financial struggles from the Covid-19 pandemic, Galveston Ballet has been affected in many ways.

• Studio Closure: All Operations were suspended for 5 months.

• Reduced income due to fewer fundraising opportunities: Our fundraising events and had low or no attendance. Our annual Cruise drawing was cancelled because cruises were not operational.

• Lower enrollment: Class sizes have been reduced by about 40% because people were hesitant to attend class, even with our strict sanitary procedures and mask mandates in place.

• Reduced grant funding: Grant funding is down by $10k due to budget cuts, which have been particularly devastating since the rental fees have almost tripled in the last 3 years at our performance venues.

Please help us reach our goal so we can continue to offer our students the opportunity to participate in free public performances and to promote the continued existence and use of classical ballet methods that benefit the community.  All funds will be spent to cover the cost of productions, venues, costuming, props and scenery.  This 'Go Fund Me' account is directly linked to the Galveston Ballet bank account with nothing in between.
