Support Robert Garmong's Cancer Journey

Dear Friends, Family, Objectivist Community Friends, and Supporters,
Let's help support and cheer on Robert Garmong while he overcomes the physical and financial challenges of cancer treatments and surgeries. Robert is a philosopher, educator, writer, consultant, and all around charming guy living in Guangzhou, China, with his wife, Lei Ma, and their young son, Roman.
Robert has been the principal of TouchStar Montessori this past year. In March 2023, he was diagnosed with a genetically-caused type of cancer called neuroendocrine tumor. This is the cancer that took out Steve Jobs, though Robert's cancer started in the small intestine and moved to the liver. It is an extremely slow-moving and treatable cancer, and there are excellent chemotherapy and drug therapies to knock this thing down.
In recognition of Robert's value to his school, as well as a genuine appreciation for his qualities as a person, TouchStar Montessori have contributed whatever they could manage, as he's tried to work when not in the hospital. But this support hasn't been enough, and he is currently unable to work. With his cancer diagnosis, he now has both a huge monthly burden (~$750 most months, up to $1200 on what is still a fairly "normal" month), and hugely diminished income.
In additional to those monthly expenses, he has at least one big operation coming up. Chinese healthcare is super-cheap compared to American, but still he's been told to prepare at least $50K US dollars for the next six months.
It's been very difficult for him to ask for help, but in this case, he can promise real value for value, in the way of frequent, fun and informative postings on Facebook. If you've ever wondered about life inside the Chinese healthcare system, or want to enjoy some amusing memes, please friend him on Facebook. You can also check out his brilliant video commentaries on YouTube.
Your generous contributions will go directly towards Robert's medical expenses, including surgeries, medications, regular check-ups, and any additional treatments that may be required. We hope to alleviate the financial strain on him so he can focus on his health and well-being and get back to promoting the Montessori method.
Please join us in raising funds and spreading the word about Robert's GoFundMe campaign. Share this page with your networks, reach out to your friends and colleagues, and let's make sure that Robert receives the support he needs and deserves. No donation is too small, and every dollar counts.
Let's come together as a community and show Robert that he is not in this fight alone!
