Hi everyone,

My name is Gary Baever, and I am a proud graduate of the Seattle Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Program, currently celebrating 7 months of recovery.

I am embarking on the journey of a lifetime: thru-hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, a 2,655-mile trek from Mexico to Canada. This adventure is not just about the trail—it's about growth, self-discovery, and proving that recovery is possible.

Why I’m Hiking the PCT

I was inspired to take on this challenge by James Ihrig, whose journey has motivated me to push beyond my limits. Through this experience, I hope to learn more about myself, deepen my spiritual connection to the universe, and ultimately inspire others who struggle with alcohol and drug addiction.
