Support Gary Martin: Help a Vietnam Veteran in Need

My name is Patrick and I own Vegas Elite Cleaners LLC. I just started a program where I clean the homes of elderly veterans in need for FREE. I had the pleasure of cleaning the apartment of Gary Martin for FREE. He was in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He lives in Henderson, NV and has no immediate family in town. With his current health issues, it is hard for him to maintain his home a well as he would like.

Recently, Gary was deemed legally blind due to complications from his Glaucoma in his eyes. He also has COPD and emphysema just to name a few ailments. Unfortunately, since he was not injured in the Vietnam War, he does not receive any VA disability pay. He is on fixed income and that comes from his social security payments. In recent times, he has had other complications with his health including needing oxygen, which the VA will not give him for some reason. He spent some time in the VA hospital where they gave him oxygen for his ailment, but refuse to give it to him again after being discharged. He also recently needed new teeth and is now on a payment plan to pay them off.

Meeting Gary, he is a very kind man who is very humble. He is very soft spoken and almost refused the help in the beginning. With the help of Lynn, his friend who helps him clean now, was able to convince him to accept help. Lynn recently hurt herself as well, so she isn't able to help him as much as she used to. We were able to raise $750 for him outside of here earlier. When presented with the money, he willingly donated $50 to the next veterans we are helping next.
