Support Gary Maupin’s Road to Recovery
Donation protected
On April 5, 2025, Gary Maupin of Glensfork, KY was involved in a farm accident in which he broke his neck and 7 vertebrae, leaving him a paraplegic. Gary was transported to UK Hospital where he had surgery to fuse his neck and rods put in his back. As of now, he still has no use of his hands.
Update: As of now, he will tentatively be flown out to the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab in Chicago, IL on Wednesday, April 23 for 4-8 weeks of inpatient rehab care. The cost of flying Gary back home will be over $23,000, which will be the family’s responsibility.
Gary will have a long journey of rehab, outpatient care for 18 months, extensive medical care, a 24/7 caregiver, specialized equipment, a wheelchair-accessible van, and modifications to his home.
These unexpected expenses are overwhelming, and any contribution you can make will greatly ease the financial burden on Gary and his family. While he is going through his own journey, his wife Bridget has had surgery recently for cancer and continues to undergo chemo in Louisville and isn’t able to help with Gary’s care.
This family truly appreciates all the love and support that have been shown to them, but especially the love and PRAYERS!
