Support Gavin's Family After Tragic Loss

Gavin has not yet been laid to rest. There seems to be a lot of people claiming that the funeral was paid for, or that the funeral home doesn't charge for children, neither of which is true. The funeral home generously donated the cost of the viewing held last week ($500), but until the burial plot and other fees are paid for, Gavin remains in the mortuary.

We have also faced a great deal of frustration and confusion surrounding who has the "right" to decide how Gavin is laid to rest. It has only recently come to light that his dad's custody ended the moment he was arrested on charges of child abuse homicide, but he was still the final decision maker up to that point. However, we are currently working with legal counsel to officially give custody of Gavin's body to his mother so he can be buried next to his grandpa. It is the only request we are seeking.

We sincerely appreciate all those who have donated, be it a little or a lot. And we will be eternally grateful to all those who have offered words of comfort and support during this painful time.

Gavin was killed on July 9, 2024 after suffering years of physical abuse and neglect from his dad's long-term girlfriend. They have both been arrested on charges of Child Abuse Homicide and others. While they await justice, the family is picking up the shattered pieces by planning funeral services and arranging therapy sessions for Gavin's older siblings, who've also suffered from abuse and neglect while in their care.

My sister is doing what no mother should have to do, burying her 12-year-old son. Gavin was such a happy kid, with a ready smile for everyone. His favorite color was blue and he loved Science and Pokemon.
