Support Gayle Nicholls-Ali and Family

Donation protected
Please support Gayle Nicholls-Ali and Rasheed Ali, as well as their sons Kareem and Rohan as they rebuild their lives after the Altadena fire. Gayle and Rasheed lost their home and were not able to retrieve any belongings. Kareem's house has significant damage and is still in harm's way.

Gayle has impacted thousands of students through her career teaching photography with the La Canada Unified School District. She was 2018 La Cañada Teacher of the Year, and beloved by everyone she taught. Gayle is also a renowned fine arts photographer, Girls Who Code advocate, and an adjunct professor at Pacific Oaks College.

Gayle has also been active as a statewide leader for Arts, Media, and Entertainment (AME) education, and was a founding board member for the Arts Media and Entertainment Institute. Last summer she was honored as an inaugural Mitchell McClung AME Leadership Award recipient. She currently facilitates professional learning across the state through the AME Institute, and has empowered numerous teachers through her statewide leadership.

This is a remarkable family facing an unimaginable loss. Please consider donating to help them in this time of need This page has been established by Ashley Adams, close friend and colleague of Gayle's. To know her is to love her. Please lend whatever support you can!
