Support Gene’s Deli

Gene’s Deli has not only been a staple for myself, my friends and my family for at least two decades.. They also provide the most delicious sandwiches, etc. that SW Portland has to offer. I remember coming to Gene’s almost everyday as a high school student with my friends. The husband and wife who run the store (singlehandedly) have always been so friendly and would remember our names every time. 

I visited Gene’s recently, and Gene himself told me (with the ever-present smile on his face) that they were struggling to make ends meet during the age of COVID-19. 

I would be  absolutely devastated to see this establishment go, and I know many of you would feel the same way. Please donate what you can and help this hardworking and endearing family business maintain their hard-earned and successful restaurant. 

I would also like to say, that when I was in high school, whenever I walked into the restaurant,Gene would say: “Welcome Home!” ... and that’s exactly what it felt like. Going to Gene’s feels like coming home.
