Support Genie's Recovery from Neglect

Hello, I recently adopted a cat from the Humane Society. He is 9 years old and his name is Eugene; I call him Genie. The day I adopted Genie, I did not go in expecting to get another cat. I was thinking about getting another cat for my crazy kitten, Nala. When I met Genie and learned his story, I had to take him home. He had been there for a month. He is the sweetest, most loving cat. He loves to snuggle with me and flop on his back for belly rubs.
Unfortunately, his previous owners, who had had him his whole life, neglected him and confined him to a small space. He developed significant periodontal disease (disease of the teeth, gums, and bone around the teeth). I had his blood work done yesterday, and his surgery is scheduled for May 22nd (needs to be 30 days after blood work). He needs to be put under for a deep cleaning, dental radiographs, and most likely will need teeth pulled. I also will need to get him his post-op medications. This will range from $1,245-$1,737. I do have insurance for him, but as this is something he has had on his medical records, they will not reimburse me. I just graduated from aesthetician school, so I am still paying off my loans and tuition monthly, and I have an apartment, so I'm paying rent as well. My cats mean the world to me, this surgery will be done no matter what to get him better, but any help goes a long way.
