Support George’s recovery after car accident
Donation protected
On the 13th December george went to visit his dad in Manchester with his sister Annemarie. While out walking his dads dog he was knocked down by a car and sustained horrific injuries which are life changing. He has suffered from a broken collarbone, 11 broken ribs, broken spine, punctured lung, damage to his oesophagus and thyroid, internal bleeding as well as facial injuries and cuts and bruises.
Due to this George took pneumonia and his lung collapsed and he ended up on life support for 8 days. Our family were told to prepare for the worst but by some miracle he had the strength to fight day by day and was removed from life support on Christmas Day. While on life support he had his spinal surgery. At present he is still in hospital in Manchester and hopefully he will be transferred tomorrow to the Queen Elizabeth for the rest of his recovery.
As a family we have decided to set up this page to try and raise some money to take some pressure off our Uncle George and his wife Debbie during his recovery.
For those who know George, will know how hardworking he is. As a self employed taxi driver this means he will be out of work for some time and with his wife working part time, this will have a massive financial impact on their life and George's recovery.
We have had a huge outpouring of well wishes for George and we appreciate everyone of them. Any donations made will go directly to him. We hope it will help alleviate the stress and worrying about finances during the long road ahead and allow him to focus fully on getting better.
